เสน่ห์ที่ Rune Factory มี และอาจจะเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นให้เกมอื่นเอาไปทำตามก็คือเรื่องของการผสมผสานกันของแนวเกมทั้งสองแนว อย่าง Action RPG เข้ากับการปลูกผักทำฟาร์มแบบ Life Simulator เข้าด้วยกันได้อย่างลงตัว ตัวเกมมีเอกลักษณ์พื้นฐานจาก Harvest Moon แต่ดัดแปลงใส่ระบบต่าง ๆ สุดแฟนตาซีเข้าไป และแฟนเกมหลายคนมักจะเรียกเกมนี้ว่า Harvest Moon ฉบับตีมอน เพราะนอกจากจะต้องปลูกผัก ทำฟาร์ม จีบหนุ่ม จีบสาวกันแล้ว ยังต้องออกไปต่อสู้กับเหล่ามอนสเตอร์ เก็บเลเวล อัปสกิลกันอีกด้วย และมีเนื้อเรื่องที่เข้มข้นมากขึ้น เน้นไปที่การต่อสู้มากขึ้นแทน

Rune Factory 5 ถูกนำเสนอด้วยการปรับกราฟิกการนำเสนอให้มีความเป็น 3D ทำให้ตัวเกมดูมีความละเอียดและความสวยงามที่มากยิ่งขึ้นกว่าภาคก่อนหน้า ภาคนี้ถือเป็นภาคที่ใช้งานประสิทธิภาพของ Nintendo Switch ได้อย่างคุ้มค่า แม้จะมีบางช่วงที่แอบเฟรมเรทดรอป และโหลดฉากไม่ทันจนเกิดเป็นภาพเบลอ ๆ บ้าง แต่นาน ๆ ทีจะพบเห็น ก็ให้อภัยกันได้ เพราะสำหรับแฟนเกมที่ติดตาม Rune Factory มาตั้งแต่ภาคแรก นี่ถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญของตัวเกมเลยทีเดียว แต่ใครที่ชอบภาพแบบ 2D ในฉากคัทซีนของการสนทนาก็ยังมีการนำเสนอแบบตัวการ์ตูนโมเดล 2D ใส่มาเหมือนเดิม ถูกใจแฟน ๆ ทั้งสองฝ่าย

สำหรับคนที่เล่นเกมแนวนี้มามาก ก็แทบจะไม่ต้องเดาเนื้อเรื่องอะไรกันให้มากมาย Rune Factory 5 ยังแทบจะคงสูตรสำเร็จของเนื้อเรื่องตั้งต้นเอาไว้ นั่นคือเราจะเป็นตัวเอกที่ตื่นมาแล้วไร้ความทรงจำ แถมยังไม่รู้ว่าตัวเองเป็นใคร พล็อตนี้ใช้กันหลายเกมมาก ทำให้เราเดินทางเข้าสู่เมือง และเริ่มต้นใช้ชีวิตและออกสำรวจดินแดนใหม่ แน่นอนว่าไม่ใช่แค่เมืองและผู้คน แต่รวมไปถึงดันเจี้ยน และปริศนาเรื่องราวตัวตนของเราอีกด้วย และ Rune Factory เป็นเกมที่มีระบบการต่อสู้เข้ามาเอี่ยว ทำให้เราต้องสลับอาชีพไปมา เป็นชาวนาบ้าง เป็นวีรบุรุษบ้าง นี่แหละเอกลักษณ์ของเกมนี้
